We are delight to be able to provide an Autumn Ballet School holiday option for all students from any ballet/dance school, aged 8 and/or Grade 2 and above, to attend a week long programme during the second week of the April holidays (24th to 28th).
Classes will run between approximately 9am until 3:45 pm, for Seniors, 9am until 2:30pm Intermediates and 10am to 2:30 Juniors ,Monday to Friday. For more information please see the following.

Ballet – Martin James
Martin James, was born in Christchurch, and graduated from the NZ School of Dance in1977 and became the Principal dancer with the RNZ Ballet shortly after. In 1985 Martin joined English National Ballet and became the company’s principal dancer from1987 to 1990. He went on to become the Principal dancer with the Deutsche Opera Ballet (1990 – 94), and the Royal Danish Ballet 1994-2000 and subsequently became Ballet Master for the Royal Danish Ballet
Martins career took him as guest artist throughout the world. During his distinguished career he danced most of the principal roles in the classical and contemporary repertoires as well as having roles created especially for him. He partnered ballerinas including Natalia Makarova, Ekaterina Maximova, Lynn Seymore, Alessandra Ferri and Sylvie Guillem.
National Character – Lincoln Carlyle
Lincoln started Ballet and National Character at the age of 5 years training in RAD and ISTD through to Advanced level. He also learned Ballroom dancing from a young age where he competed nationally for many years, gaining multiple NZ titles, and training in London for a number of years where he competed on the UK circuit too.
After returning to NZ Lincoln completed a degree and Post Graduate degree in Communication Management where he resumed his interest in dance basing most of his research work around dance and communication. Lincoln recently returned to dancing and completed RAD grade 6,7,8 (Distinction) and is now studying towards the Associate in National Character (ISTD London).
Gina began dancing in her hometown of Nelson. As well as completing performance examinations, she achieved IDTA Associate level teaching qualifications in ballet and modern jazz. In 2007 Gina moved to Wellington to study at New Zealand School of Dance as a contemporary major and was awarded the Katrina Todd Scholarship in her second year. Since graduating in 2009 she has freelanced as a dancer/performer around New Zealand, working with an inspiring range of creative artists and performers. More recently Gina has been working in the health and fitness industry as a barre fitness instructor and club manager, alongside teaching contemporary technique at NZ School of Dance.
